The Barony of Ruantallan - Dabblers Guild
Welcome to the Ruantallan Dabblers' Guild

The Ruantallan Dabblers’ Guild is a place where people of varied interests come to share and learn. Be it cooking, costuming, embroidery, beadwork, calligraphy and illumination, metalwork, woodwork, brewing, research, or whatever else your imagination can come up with - the Dabblers’ Guild helps promote the Society for Creative Anachronism by learning new skills and then sharing them with others.

The Guild is open to anyone within the Barony of Ruantallan, so if you have skills to share, or if you have skills you would like to learn, please contact us.

The Dabblers’ Guild Charter Be it known that the assembled artisans in many disciplines in the Barony of Ruantallan would band together and create a Dabblers' Guild in the Barony dedicated to the propositions:

That a scholar may sip from many cups of learning with out draining anyone so deeply that he or she loses sight of other interests.

That the learning and sharing of new skills are fostered and encouraged throughout the Barony of Ruantallan and indeed the entire East Kingdom.

To this end, the artisans of the Dabblers' Guild agree to hold quarterly meetings.

For the beautification of the Barony of Ruantallan and the fostering of heraldry the Dabblers' Guild will undertake the creation of banners for the populace who have been awarded and have had passed their Award of Arms.

For the education of the populace in the ways of the Known World, we propose to hold a minimum of three scholae in any given year.

All projects completed by the Dabblers' Guild will be for the Barony of Ruantallan and will remain in the possession of the Dabblers' Guild unless we deem otherwise.

The Dabbler's Guild will be headed by a Guild Master or Mistress to be voted upon by the membership of the Dabblers' Guild.

The Dabblers' Guild will undertake to give an historical report to the Barony of Ruantallan on the occasion of the anniversary of its investiture, in return for the protection and patronage of our Baron and Baroness, in sign of which he and/or she may set his/her seal to this charter.
